Class Types

Intro to Acro

Intro to Acro class will focus on basic coordination and mobility while introducing and continuously working basic acrobatic skills and tumbling.

This class is designed to allow mini Acro participants a solid foundation to move to beginner Acro when they turn 7 years old.

Dance Attire: Leotard, black leggings, acro shoes or bare feet allowed.  Hair pulled up with no hard head bands or bobby pins, for safety.

Duration: 45 minutes

Acro

Acro classes will teach stationary acrobatic skills, tumbling acrobatic skills as well as general tumbling. Participants can use all acrobatic skills in dances once mastered.

Classes will have 10-15 minutes of conditioning & flexibility included with every class. Proper technique, strength and safety will be focused on continuously as participants learn and master acrobatic skills.

Dance Attire: Leotard, black leggings, acro shoes or bare feet allowed. Hair pulled up with no hard head bands or bobby pins, for safety.

Tutus For Tots (24 Months - 3 Years)

This class is designed to enhance your child’s motor, listening, and social skills.

Dancers will be introduced to basic ballet technique, learn fun songs with movement, and use their imagination to explore dance.

Dance Attire: Lilac leotard, light pink tights and pink ballet slippers. No skirts to be worn in class, only used as cover-ups. Hair secured up and off the face and neck.

Duration: 45 minutes

Preschool Ballet & Tap (3 - 5 Years)

This class concentrates on overall body awareness, alignment, and posture, and builds skills needed for taking Ballet I or Jazz I. It will develop flexibility, strength and coordination of movement.

Dance Attire: Lilac leotard, light pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes.  

No skirts to be worn, only worn as cover-ups. Hair up and off the face.

Duration: 1 hour (30 min ballet, 30 min tap)

Intro to Hip Hop (4 - 6 Years)

This class is foundational to Beginner Hip Hop – Learn basic hip hop steps, poses, and style and have fun!  Gain self-confidence showing off your best moves in class.  Age appropriate music and moves!

Dance Attire: Sneakers, comfortable clothing.

Duration: 45 minutes

Hip Hop

Building on the skills learned in Hip Hop Mini, Beginner Hip Hop (for ages 7-10 yrs), Intermediate and Advanced hip hop are for older students and dancers with experience in this genre.

It’s high energy and fun for boys and girls! As skills advance, more advanced choreography and skills with new dance combinations will be incorporated.

Dance Attire: Comfortable clothes of your choice and sneakers

Duration:  1 hour

Intro to Ballet (5 - 7 Years)

Intro to Ballet is designed for the young dancer who has never taken a ballet class.

Perfect for igniting the love for learning dance with a great balance of sound technical training and FUN!

Dance attire: Pink ballet shoes, pink tights, light pink leotard, hair in secure bun.

Duration: 1 hour

Academy Ballet I, II, III, IV, & V

Our curriculum is designed to teach and provide a strong foundation in ballet technique and to progress from one level to the next. It is expected that the student will take each level at least two years depending on their progress and development. Class will include proper ballet technique foundation with core control, balance, posture, presentation and focus, barre work, center work and floor exercises are included in lesson plans. Classical music and proper terminology are emphasized in all levels.

Dance Attire:  Hair must be PINNED in a secure bun, no ponytails, or hair hanging down, designated leotard (see below), pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes.

Level 1 – Light Blue
Level 2 – Cobalt
Level 3 – Burgundy
Level 4 – Teal
Level 5 – Navy Blue

Duration: 1-2 hours

If student is in multiple levels, they can wear the designated leotard colors for the class or the highest-level leotard color for both classes they attend.

Pointe

All pointe classes are designed for advanced ballet students. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Approval is needed for enrollment in this class. Dancers enrolled in Pointe must be taking ballet technique twice per week at a minimum.

Duration: 1 hour

Tap I, II, & III

Tap is a great dance form to learn. It combines a love of dance, music and performance. Tap dancing is a discipline that teaches the dancer about musicality, improvisation and syncopation.

Dance Attire: Black tap shoes and any jazz pant or short, tanks or dance tops.

Duration:  1 hour

Intro to Jazz (5-7 Years)

This class is designed for the young dancer as an introduction to jazz dance. It is a wonderful class to get a well rounded variety of all dance steps add the word Fundamentals

Dance Attire: Any leotard of choice, black leggings or fitness pants, tan jazz shoes, hair pulled back.

Duration:  1 hour

Jazz I, II, III, & IV


As your dancer progresses trough various levels of Jazz, they will learn fundamentals in jazz that focus on proper body alignment, posture, coordination, and technique. Different styles of jazz music and movement will be used.

Dance Attire: Black leggings and your choice of leotard with jazz shoes. Hair must be pulled back. No baggy T-shirts or shorts.

Duration: 1  or 1.5 hour

Contemporary


Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements and is a wonderful way to express oneself.

Dance Attire:  Any dance clothes of choice, hair pulled back.

Duration: 1 hour

Modern

A genre that extends from classical ballet training and adds grounded movement, floor work, and creative expression. This class will cover various methods and styles including Graham and Horton.

Dance attire: Black leggings, leotard of choice, bare feet, hair in a secure bun.

Duration:  1 hour

Musical Theater

Learn from the best: Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Bob Fosse, as well from popular musicals The Lion King, Grease, High School Musical and so much more. Some dance experience required. Jazz and ballet elements combined with presentation skills improve confidence and showmanship.

Dance attire: Leotard and leggings, jazz shoes (required) and character shoes (optional)
